Every day, you're on your boat. Twenty-four hours to row down the stream of life.
If you know where you're going, great! But if not, you're just rowing anywhere.
However, if you do know your destination, ask yourself: How far did you go today on your boat?
Did you make progress, or did your boat crash against a few rocks?
As the day ends, review your journey. Remember, you are the captain of your soul.
Ask yourself: How well did I steer the boat today? What did I learn about the ocean? And how can I navigate tomorrow's journey even better than today?
I like that thought. It helps to take life in smaller increments. Once the day is over, we can analyze how well we did and start fresh the next day. I like the idea of life being a journey. We often don’t think of it that way but focus only on the destination or just drift aimlessly from day to day.
