Unorthodoxy: A Personal Journey Towards Transformation and Awakening
A few years ago, as the world was beginning to see the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, I stumbled upon an Instagram video that sparked a profound transformation in my life. The video proposed a three-year challenge for personal change, a concept that resonated deeply with me.
The premise was simple yet powerful:
commit to a change for one year, and your body begins to adapt.
Maintain that change for two years, and others start to take notice.
But if you can sustain that change for three years, your entire environment shifts in response.
Ironically, around the same time, the Federal Reserve announced its plan to raise interest rates over the next three years. The Federal Reserve, as I wrote at the time, was about to bring pain. If they were going to inflict hardship on Americans, I wanted to be prepared. I wanted to ensure that I positioned myself for success, regardless of the economic climate.
Inspired by the video and motivated by the impending economic shift, I set a challenge for myself: over the next three years, or roughly 1,200 days, I would work tirelessly to change myself, to match the energy that the Federal Reserve was exuding.
Embracing this mindset, I embarked on numerous ventures. The results have been incredibly gratifying. I’ve begun transitioning away from reliance on the system, creating a viable alternative. This journey has led me to think unorthodoxly about many aspects of life yet create innovative and creative solutions that create value that can be exchanged for currency. That’s the essence of Unorthodoxy - it challenges us to interact with our world in novel ways, to soar spiritually as we are meant to.
Today marks day 498 of my personal transformation challenge. After a year and a half of dedicated effort, I’ve seen significant changes in myself. There’s still work to be done, but as I transverse the second year, I’m starting to see the groundwork for my environment shift, and (I hope) people are beginning to recognize the change in me.
The Paradox of Progress
Today, I came across a reel on Instagram that echoed a sentiment I’ve been grappling with. The video showcased the paradox of the current job market: companies are constantly advertising that they’re hiring, yet it seems no one is actually getting hired. This voiceover video reiterated the same message, amplifying the frustration many feel.
On one hand, we’re told that the economy is growing and that jobs are plentiful. I recently saw an article forecasting positive job growth. Yet, the reality painted by personal experiences and stories like the Instagram video is starkly different. Many people are struggling to find employment, leading us to question: what’s really going on here?
In the article “The Federal Reserve is About to Bring Pain,” I discussed how the Federal Reserve needs jobs to decrease, not increase. It’s a counterintuitive concept, but it’s the reality of our economic system. Interest rates won’t go low until the confidence factor of jobs decreases. This isn’t a positive development, but it’s the truth we’re facing.
Despite hearing job growth reports and “We’re Hiring” signs everywhere, the lived experience tells a different story. It seems we’re dealing with two conflicting narratives. Ask any millennial, and you’ll hear tales of struggle and overwhelming debt.
So, what’s really happening? This is the question we must grapple with as we navigate these unorthodox times.
The Reality of Unorthodoxy
This reality is the reality of our existence. We are in the midst of a narrative war. Until we can discern the narratives being spun around us, we risk having a distorted perception of reality. If we subscribe to the public narrative, we might believe that everything is fine, that we’re merely going through a rough patch that will soon pass.
However, an article by
on The Dossier1 recently caught my attention. It argued that simply working harder won’t solve all our problems. I regularly find articles discussing individuals’ financial struggles due to rising prices. Inflation isn’t going anywhere.I recently discussed an Instagram video highlighting a concerning trend: people choose not to have children. This decision has far-reaching implications for humanity. We must be aware of this reality, or we can choose to believe the narrative that everything will be okay.
With an upcoming election, there’s a belief that everything will be great if we vote for the right person. Again, we can choose to accept the public narrative, or we can decide to view reality from an unorthodox perspective.
That’s what we aim to do here at Unorthodoxy. We strive to challenge conventional thinking and encourage a fresh, unorthodox view of the world with transformative and innovative systems.
The Path Forward
Here at Unorthodoxy, we challenge ourselves to view reality from a different perspective. We delve into the realm of conspiracies, not for amusement but to uncover the truth. For instance, consider the conspiracy that our country might be intentionally kept in debt. If our policies are designed to keep us in debt, how do we counteract that?
By exploring reality from this basis, we equip ourselves to navigate it better. We discuss topics like energy and mental health, understanding that our daily thoughts and reactions hold power. Recognizing that mental health is an indication of spiritual health allows us to find value in our day, increasing our chances of success.
Over the past 498 days, I’ve become a better individual by focusing on my mantras and manifestations daily. I’ve realized that I am significantly more financially stable than I was 500 days ago. I’m thinking better, interacting more with reality, and sharing these experiences through my Substack.
At Unorthodoxy, we aim to build new systems of value. Substack, a million-dollar company, provides a haven for healthy conversations. We need more platforms like Substack. By supporting platforms and ideas that enrich and benefit us, we create a new world for ourselves.
I empathize with my friends who are struggling and hoping that things will get better. But the reality is, we are in a state of financial warfare. Once we awaken and see reality for what it is, we can equip ourselves, arm ourselves, and soar as we were meant to.
For anyone new to this, check out my book. It’s a great starting point, which is why I wrote it. If you want more in-depth information, consider becoming a paying subscriber. I’m about to start an analysis on “Think and Grow Rich,” applying its lessons to our productivity section to help us achieve our financial goals.
Even though we are under attack, the tools for success are here for us. That is our purpose on this Earth. Thank you for your time.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments below. Ashe.
