The other day, I saw a picture on Instagram that moved me, so much so that I made a note1 about it:
I’ve been reading the book Think And Grow Rich, and within the book, I’ve realized that everything mentioned comes down to energy. You’ve got to think about positive energies; you have to take positive actions. In the book, Napoleon Hill mentions there are only two elements of reality: matter and energy23.
Such a light bulb goes off when you realize everything is energy. For example, take habits. Habits have a strong, energetic pull to them, so much so that when you try to break a habit, the energy of that habit pulls you back so strongly that you eventually go back into that vortex of the habit.
You can apply this to anything, from emotions to ideas such as facts and opinions. They have different energies to them. One’s more confident, and the other is simply what one’s heard/thought/etc. — not concrete energy.
So ultimately, if everything that exists — from our thoughts to our ideas to our physical environments — is energy, then what is aware of the energy in everything else? Here’s where we run into consciousness.
So now, we have two elements which everything in reality derives from:
consciousness that is aware of the energy and
the energy that builds reality, from the thoughts to the matter.
Every day, we wake up as the captain of our ship, ready to take sail on the Ocean of 24 hours. On this journey, as we row our boats, we exude energy into waves of existence with each daily action and thought. By being conscious about the energy we exude and the direction in which we place that energy, we’re more likely to ensure that we direct the boat — our physical bodies, our goals, and dreams — to the destination it needs to go. We’re also more mindful of the rocks of distraction and the energies that take our boats off course.
By being conscious of our energy day in and day out, if we do this for months, or even years, consistently, day in and day out, building new habits of energies and vortexes that are positive, I wonder what kind of energy and world we would find ourselves in.

and going further, matter is energy. so energy is really all that exists.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from the book is that just as your brain is a receiver of information and vibration, it’s also a broadcaster of information and vibration (energy). It can put positive energy out there!
I am enjoying this analogy, but I want to push back a little (consider this a conversation more than a comment or criticism): what about those unexpected occurrences like hurricanes or other ships that end up on a collision course with your ship? You may be doing all you can to stay in course, but in life (on the ocean) there are always inevitable counters to your will, intentions, and presumed life course. Are you planning to flesh out the analogy further?
Good article. Break it down to the dance of Shiva and Shakti - Consciousness and its Energy. Happiness is energy, so is joy. Enjoy life.
