The Political Perspective
In this last section, we will discuss the political ideology known as Zionism1. To be clear, Zionism, which is “a nationalist movement that espouses the establishment of, and support for a homeland (Israel) for the Jewish people,” is a political concept. It’s purely political.
Zionism is not Judaism. These two are not the same.
This distinction needs to be understood because there are many Zionist practices that the Jews - individuals who practice Judaism - may disagree with. It’s this Zionist ideology that led to the Balfour Declaration, which led to the takeover of the land of Palestine and the Palestinians.
