Gotta love that pause button on the remote. Plus it helps I'm a speed reader. The inundation of drug commercials when I'm watching a movie on Tubi (I can just imagine what reg TV has) allows me to read the small print and/or listen to the rapid fire list of side effects, that always include death, is beyond the pale. I have read that only New Zealand and America allow this kind of drug propaganda on their airways. If that's true it's very telling why we're the sickest.
There is another dimension to this issue of RX drug pricing. Factoring in the cost of liability when it is recognized that their is a potential for lawsuits. Vioxx from Merck that killed around 100,000 patients stayed on the market to garner $$ to cover the cost of the impending lawsuits. Many other Big Pharma companies have done the same thing over the years. Had a MD friend whose daughter worked for Merck and resigned because they would not remove the drug from the market place. Purdue went the political route to call off the DEA investigation on the great harm and deaths caused by Oxycontin. They also got the DOJ to tell the states how to sue distributors and drug chains who have become the fall guys and have paid out 80% of the fines, totally 30 billion. PD in the meantime shipped the wealth overseas and their share is under 8 billion.
It's bribery protection money pure and simple. The TV networks would all go out of business if they didn't get these Big Pharma advertising spends.
The last thing they want to do is kill the goose that's keeping the lights on ... and allowing them to be ego-enhancing, important executives with nice beach and lake homes ... Or simply have a job in media or "journalism."
Note that the only journalists who challenge the Big Pharma narratives work for themselves, or nothing, or for a pittance on Substack.
Franklin - this is wonderful. I'm a new paid sub and you are the only one I pay for. I did want to say something about obesity being touted as a disease and not a result of lifestyle choices...there is an element of truth to that. As a health coach who would love nothing more than to see ALL federal agencies (and most of the government itself) explode into a burning ball of fire (and I think we're on our way there), obesity is not a disease...it's a symptom of disease. And like all symptoms, it's screaming a message of "Help! There's something not working down in there!" And what it's screaming about is disease that Big Pharma and all the other alphabet agencies have created so they can sell this petroleum shit and kill us even faster. We are paying for our own demise. It's quite amusing - when I use ChatGPT, it always insists on telling me that modern medicine is sometimes helpful for some things...and I smack it down every time. Literally - I can't think of one way modern western medicine has helped me; I can, however, say how it nearly killed me as I dieted my way down to optimal weight all while on levothyroxine for hypothyroid/Hashimoto's...in fact, that's what I'm basing my healing work on. I'll be referencing this piece in my own work; thank you for doing some of the heavy lifting for me.
Sadly Canada also allows pharma ads with one big difference - they cannot say what the drug is for or provide any information about it. Therefore the ads are vague and stupidly annoying: Ask your Doctor if XYZ is right for you; Do you know what QRS is? Ask your Doctor; My neighbour takes FGH, I should ask my Doctor if it’s right for me. 😠
Thanks! I have a bunch of autoimmune issues. Ironically I was working in an autistic kindergarten class and New York State made me get boosters.
They were baffled why I suddenly had autoimmune problems and gaslit me for years. & the poverty on disability, frustrating.
A family member works for Merk. She forbid her daughters from taking the shot her company sells! She enjoys many free vacations she “wins “at work .
The county office I used to go to for counseling & antidepressants would make us wait for hours if the drug reps were there that day. They didn’t let our appointments interfere with the free lunch buffet.
Excellent Franklin!
Thanks Albert!
Indeed, the whole pHARMa/mediKILL industry is far more interested in raking in the dough than helping a single One of Us.
Thanks for a look at the lies!
