Being older, I always considered social media platforms to be somewhat narcissistic frivolities to be avoided. I also immediately saw through the corona bologna maybe because I like critical thinking?
Franklin JMO but your posts are the right length for me - and riveting! I tire of receiving mini-books and feel many Stack authors are too much in love with their own writing. I get annoyed with pomposity. Less works for me. Another O’ used to urge responders to “keep it pithy.” Rappaport rarely exceeds 600 words.
Thanks for this comment! I’m glad the length works. I write my drafts as “emails” — and you never want an email to be too long, so thank you for this comment. And completely agree with the narcissistic aspect of social media. I’ve once heard it brings out “our inner trolls”
I try to keep My articles, aimed at solving for the moneyed psychopaths in control on Our planet, to 2-2 1/2 pages at 12 pt font with 1 inch margins. Some are a bit longer, some a bit shorter... Not sure how many words.
Often My signature is longer than the article. (I have a looong signature!)
I can understand why mental illness has become a greater problem with the advent of the internet and social media. The human mind can only tolerate a certain amount of over stimulation and information. It's nice to see cute puppies and kittens and then the horrors of killings, brutality and adverse human behaviors are overwhelming. Put the damn phones down and smell the flowers.
I've considered that if I actually had a tangible thing that I pay out every time I choose to judge, or worry, or 'put up a wall', I might think twice, and be reluctant to hand over, say, Joy or Peace or Happy in exchange for the negative ROI I often feel from negativity. I had not considered that Attention may be of upmost value considering the ROI!!! Great post. Thank you.
I’ve become very distracted from my life. I have recently woken up to the aether (a wonderful life-changing heart-warming MIRACLE), and instead of doing the real work of meditating and going into myself - I watch videos and read online about it. I changed none of my distracting habits. Geez!
You speak much common sense, I’m listening. I’m right now turning off this glaring screen.
Never had a phone, never will. And all My social media accounts are for sharing awareness of the solution to the problem of moneyed psychopaths in control on Our plant that I offer to Humanity. I ignore the play They put on for Us on the cave wall (Our screens) in the "news."
Not sure I see much in the way of miracles in My life, though.
I think it's funny how we all still call our handheld devices phones, but that is the least used feature. I have noticed that my attention span has been greatly diminished by all connected devices and I find that I use them as a way to procrastinate. Everything that I am curious about is just a search away.
There is an old Start Trek The Next Generation episode where an alien race introduces a neural linked video game that renders most of the crew helpless by keeping their attention.
I always think about it when I see people sitting at dinner together all looking at their devices instead of talking.
As for manifesting, you are absolutely correct, Franklin. It seems that we can achieve almost anything if we imagine it and then move towards it by taking action. Unfortunately, dead ends like The Secret lead people to believe that all they have to do is wish for something to happen. Action is the key.
What you call aether maybe actually what is noosphere - whereby I see this as the natural evolution of our creative thought and how 'devices' which drive the direction of these thoughts in a very limited or closed conclusive direction; versus our natural creative spark process which remains open and creative.
Matt Ehret writes about this noosphere - which was discovered by Vladimir Vernadsky in the 19thC as a biogeochemist...
"Vernadsky writes: “With Man… the form of biogeochemical energy connected to reason grows and expands with time, rapidly moving to the fore. This increase is possibly related to the growth of reason itself—a process which seems to occur very slowly (if at all) but is chiefly connected to its honing and deepening in using it to consciously transform the social environment, and is especially due to the growth of scientific knowledge.”
Matt actually does a presentation of this article which really helps with conceptualizing the depth of this subject if interested, I found myself completely fascinated with this lecture presentation:

These are great words of wisdom. Thank you.

So True Franklin! Thank you!

Brilliant! Thank you
As I read on my iPhone. 😫
Your words ring so true. Thank you for the reminder. I plan on getting outside today to garden in the beauty of the sun ☀️.
P.S. is the author Carl or Cal Newport? I think there’s a typo.
