The Spiritual Perspective of Reality, Part One
Embracing The Non-Material, Non-Physical, Aspects Of Reality
Introduction
In 2015, a study1 showed that at least 70% of millionaires were considered religious. That number is conservatively higher, as we can say that 95% of millionaires value spirituality in their lives. When we say spiritual, we are including:
People who are positive thinkers,
Those who have devout practices,
And those who believe in the value and the power of luck.
We’re also seeing that people who are more spiritual end up being healthier, having less financial debt, and, ultimately, having more freedom. In short, we see a correlation between the more spiritual you are and the more likely you are to become a sovereign individual.
If this is the case, then why isn’t society geared more towards the spiritual but rather the physical?
The Argument for Embracing Spirituality
My previous article discussed the phrase “widely recognized and accepted theories.” Within it, I realized that science as a whole does not widely recognize or accept the validity and impact that spirituality plays on reality.
In my book, I discuss how we, as a human species, got here to this place and time by focusing on the sciences that have seemed to prioritize materiality and disregard spirituality. My argument is that this prioritization is intentional because if spirituality makes an individual more sovereign, would it not make sense to have them lose their spirituality so that you could enslave the population?
For you to enslave a population in debt and loans, to go war of war after war, could it only be possible if your population sees the material and ignores the spiritual?
What if we, as a society, began to listen more to the spiritual?
If we listen to our thoughts, emotions, and intuition, what if this leads to us being better, wealthier, more sovereign individuals?
This perspective is the argument that I look to propose, and without any further, let’s dive in.
Within the article, we will discuss the following areas:
Defining spirituality: Thoughts, emotions, intuition, etc., and the reality and impact of non-material aspects.
Historical shift from spiritual to material worldview
Data suggesting spirituality leads to wealth and freedom
Potential motives for suppressing spirituality
Examples of spirituality's impact (faith, luck, intuition)
Benefits of embracing spirituality
Unlocking the Non-Material Realms
My argument is that as readers, we need to understand and appreciate how the spiritual impacts our reality. The word spiritual is very broad because when I say something is spiritual, I’m also talking about things that are non-material or terminologies such as anti-matter or metaphysical.
When we talk about spirituality, we’re referring to ideas such as psychology, metaphysics, anti-matter, etc. We are talking about the opposite of the physical, material world. The idea is that when we understand and appreciate this spiritual, non-material aspect of reality, it has a more significant impact on our reality.
Examples of these anti-matter aspects of reality include thoughts, emotions, and more. No one can deny how real these things are. We can’t measure or capture them, but we know these aspects of reality are real. Other aspects of this reality we ignore are intuition, imagination, attention, faith, etc.
Science would never argue that intuition and imagination are not real. In fact, we would argue that thoughts, emotions, feelings, senses, intuition, and imagination are indeed not measurable and are non-material, but we know that they are factual and impact our reality.
The question that arises is why we don’t pay more attention to them. I would say it’s due to the propaganda and indoctrination that we’ve all been under.
Somehow, somewhere in human history, we began to view the spiritual as not crucial to the material or the physical. This phenomenon is ironic because, if you look at human history across the world, human history has always been very spiritual. From shamans to prophets and wise men, our essence has been spiritual.
I discuss this in my book, showing how humanity has evolved. For the last 10,000 years, spirituality has been at the forefront. But in the past 500 years, we have no longer had this perspective. Unfortunately, we have placed this material view of the world at the forefront, which can be due to science and the role of scientism.
It’s important to note that science does not simply disregard the reality of the non-material world; it merely implies that the two don’t work together. This interpretation has caused a significant shift in human understanding within the past 500 years. For a quick example, we can see that we no longer treat depression from the spiritual component, but rather the physical, by prescribing a petrochemical to alleviate the condition.
To understand where this split occurred, we must go back to the first individual who started this split, the individual known as Descartes.
