The two that we are offered are that either A is right and B is wrong, or A is wrong and B is right. The two other possibilities that just don't even get brought up are, both A and B are right, or both A and B are wrong.
Every commissioned salesman knows to lead a customer into believing his choice is between product A or product B. He leads the customer away from thinking about neither product being suitable.
