What’s the worst that could happen?
I want to introduce a new term to our lexicon: Cognitive Dysfunction. Now, bear with me. This term and application may be of my own creation, but it encapsulates the concept I’m eager to discuss.
As followers of this Substack are aware, my work often involves theorizing on scientific realities underpinned by historical and mythical relevance. My argument is that our ancestors, who were more intimately connected with God, the Divine, and nature, lived in a more harmonious world than we inhabit today.
I argue that the disharmony we experience today stems from our indoctrination into a new worldview—a worldview that’s a mere 200 years old. From this perspective, we’ve endeavored to construct cities, systems, industries, and more. Regrettably, these new systems often disregard the principles of nature, leading to their inevitable failure.
This failure is evident in various sectors, including economics, medicine, education, and science. Despite pumping millions of dollars into these industries, we see no meaningful results. Yet, we persist in our efforts. Why is that? For those interested in delving deeper into this 200-year perspective, I invite you to explore my latest book, “An Unorthodox Truth.”
One of the primary reasons we continue to apply old solutions to old problems is simple: it’s all we know. We’ve been handed a box and instructed to find solutions that fit neatly within its confines. But what if we dared to think outside this box?
I must confess, I don’t think I was born within a box. My formative years were spent traversing continents, studying God’s word and nature rather than being confined within the indoctrination camps known as schools. This unique upbringing has endowed me with a spiritual perspective on reality.
So, here’s a revolutionary idea: why don’t we think outside the box? This perplexing question is where the concept of cognitive dysfunction comes into play. In my article, “The Many Paths to Freedom,” I discuss the boxes we know—science, or scientism, and religion, primarily Christianity. Venturing outside these boxes is challenging, requiring true faith. But I pose the question: what’s the worst that could happen?
What if we began constructing our world based on the philosophies guiding our ancestors? What if we delved deeper into the mysteries of spirituality to understand ourselves better? What if we stepped into the unknown, armed with actual science and faith, and began to create new realities—worlds and inventions never seen before? What’s the worst that could happen if we viewed the world as the center of the universe, discarded notions of viruses, and ceased to fear global nuclear threats?

I acknowledge my bias, having been fortunate to avoid indoctrination at a young age. Faith and truth are all I know, and they have served me well. My life is a testament to the power of prayer — even as I question the dogma of the faith.
So, dear readers, what if we set aside the cognitive dysfunction of thinking within the box and began to explore the faith-filled notion of thinking outside the box? What’s the worst that could happen?

What if we delved deeper into the mysteries of spirituality to understand ourselves better?" There are those that are seeking guidance back to the ways of 'seeing' that have been, as you say, 'boxed up' tightly. We are in bondage....but it is an illusionary state based on fear. I see a paradox of sorts....in order to break free from the collective bondage, one must individuate, in order to come back into Come-Unity.
I used to have ‘contempt prior to investigation.’ The 12 step program of recovery I am a part of, taught me many new tools to use in everyday life, one of which is ‘HOW’ it works: Honesty, Open-mindedness, and Willingness. It works if you work it, and it won’t if you don’t.
